Deep Sea Fishing in Tamarindo

The offshore waters of Tamarindo drop into the deep Pacific just miles from shore, putting big-game fish within striking distance. Aboard Blue Runner, we run professional trolling gear and fish the proven deep sea fishing grounds that produce Tamarindo's most legendary catches.

Sailfish Fishing Tamarindo

Sailfish are the superstar of Costa Rica's Pacific waters and Tamarindo is world-famous for them. Fast, acrobatic, and absolutely electric on the line, a sailfish fight is bucket-list material. The dry season (December–April) is peak time, but sailfish are caught year-round here.

Marlin Fishing Costa Rica

Blue Marlin and Black Marlin are the ultimate trophy fish. Tamarindo's offshore grounds give you a genuine shot at marlin year-round. When one takes the bait, the fighting chair on Blue Runner gives you the leverage to land it.

Inshore Fishing Tamarindo

Not every great fish lives offshore. Tamarindo's coastal waters deliver hard-fighting inshore species perfect for half-day trips, families, or anyone who wants non-stop action closer to shore. The iconic Roosterfish , with its dramatic comb fin and ferocious strikes, is one of the most exciting catches in Costa Rica.
